This term, our EYFS children have thoroughly enjoyed their Forest School sessions, embracing the opportunity to learn, explore and grow in the natural environment. Through a range of exciting outdoor activities, the children have developed their curiosity, confidence and independence while building important skills through hands-on experiences.
This blog showcases some of the wonderful activities and learning opportunities the children have taken part in this term. From exploring nature and developing their problem-solving skills to working collaboratively with their friends, we are delighted to share their Forest School journey with you.

In the Forest today we learnt all about observing we looked with magnifying glasses at trees and under logs very closely to find hidden things like bugs, spider webs and different textures like the bark of trees. Then it was on to free play and to finish we had juice and snack. Great observing seedlings.

Today we were joined by some of our parent. We started with the children telling our adults the rules of the Forest school. Then the children loved showing us all of the wonderful things they love to do like jumping, swinging and completing bug worksheets. Great lesson Holly Class and a big thank you to our parents for all your help today.

Today In the Forest we recapped the story of “Little Red Riding Hood” then we acted out the story with masks of all different characters using their imagination Forest and our imagination after it was free play and to finish we had juice and a snack. Well done Seedlings!

In the forest today, we made a tree out of our hand prints. We are going to hang our work on the corridor forest display board. The children had a great time getting very messy. After it was free play. To finish we had snack and juice. Well done everyone!

In the Forest today we continued our learning from class by looking at Andy Goldsworthy, he is famous for making art out of naturally resourced materials like leaves, sticks and stones. The children did amazing replicating his work. After we had free play where fun was had by all. To finish off we had hot chocolate, juice and biscuits. Great job Holly Class.
