This week, we have been very busy planting trees!
St Vincent’s are joining more than 14,000 schools taking action to help the environment and in the process earn the Green Tree Schools Award under the Woodland Trust.
The Green Tree Schools Award encourages outdoor learning and inspires children to learn about trees, woods and wildlife. The children will be taking part in fun, practical projects while helping the environment and improving our grounds.
Yesterday, the children in EYFS were great at carrying all the necessary resources down to the forest on their visit. They listened carefully to Mr McKaye’s instructions – making a hole, planting the tree, adding a wooden stick and then placing some protection around it. Everyone got stuck in and the children are extremely proud of their trees! We can’t wait to watch them grow.
