This week in UKS2 we have been looking at what it was like to be an evacuee during World War 2. We’ve listened to primary sources of information such as peoples account of their evacuation. We are lucky enough to have a connection with someone who was evacuated from this area. We have been listening to her account and creating questions to send to her about her experiences. We have also been doing activities such as hot-seating where a chosen child put themselves in the shoes of an evacuee and answers questions from other children within the class as if they were an evacuee.
In our religious lessons we have been focusing on the Psalms; looking into the history of them, where they are in the bible and how they can be used as prayers. We have also been investigating where they are used in the Christian and Jewish faiths. Then as a class we sang a chosen Psalm and explored what the words in the Psalm showed and how they can be used to worship God.
Thank you for reading our update, we hope you all have a lovely half term and we look forward to sharing more of our amazing work in the future.
